REMINDER! — T-3 days and counting

Okay, who sent me a really weird-but-awesome Christmas present?

I get books all the time, and sometimes totebags, and today I got a Christmas card from Momofuku. But this appears to be an alchemy kit? With an all-caps warning label and vials of chemicals sealed with wax and a page of a bible glued inside the lid?

The first thing I thought of was that mysterious U of C Indiana Jones journal, but I’m thinking this is actually part of the Find The Starlight Tumblr storytelling project? It looks like the boxes some other people got. Mine is way cooler, though. Tryna keep my coworkers off of it.

Anyone smarter than me understand why I got this or how I’m supposed to use it? It’s possible I’m better at reading than puzzles…

This is wonderful. As others have pointed out, your vials are the four classical elements — Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The page from Exodus describes the first passover, which is surely significant in some way. Since the instructions say “USE ONLY AS DIRECTED” without there being any explicit instructions, I’d say the instructions are forthcoming. They’ll probably reference the words on the Exodus page to tell you what to do. It might be a particular verse or certain words picked out from the page. I’d wait for a bit, as I imagine M will be sending out a number of boxes before instructions find their way to the box owners. Remember the man with the playing cards who was asking his mysterious friend what he was supposed to do with them? And the friend said he’d be back on January 15th? Maybe if you don’t know what to do with these boxes, you should wait for the next clue to drop. I have a good feeling about the Fifteenth of January.
