A scarab beetle. I have a certain fondness for scarabs, having seen them in the Moroccan Sahara during my travels. For me, they represent mystery, reverence, and awe. I see scarabs in an almost spiritual light, which is fair, since the scarab enjoys religious relevance in many cultures. I particularly enjoy the connotations of rebirth and transformation that come from the scarabs of ancient Egypt.
